The Emporio Armani logo is installed on one of the hangars at Milan’s Linate airport
Milan’s Museum of Science and Technology exhibits a pair of recycled denim jeans within its Innovation Hall

A donation is made to restore the stained-glass windows inside of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés Abbey in Paris
The first Emporio Armani Caffè opens in Paris
2000

The first concept store Armani/Manzoni 31 opens in Milan that includes, in addition to Emporio Armani and other brands of the Group, the first Armani/Casa store

The first Armani/Nobu restaurant opens in Milan

New York City’s Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum stages a retrospective commemorating 25 years of Giorgio Armani's career as a designer. The exhibition travels to Bilbao, Berlin, London, Rome, Shanghai and Tokyo, before concluding at the Triennale di Milano in 2007

The new Armani/Teatro, created in collaboration with Japanese architect Tadao Ando, is inaugurated in via Bergognone, Milan

The concept store Armani/Chater House opens in Hong Kong
Giorgio Armani is named Goodwill Ambassador by the The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in recognition of his contribution to refugees during the crisis in Afghanistan

Giorgio Armani receives the first Rodeo Drive Walk of Style award in Beverly Hills for his contribution to the world of cinema and his close bond with Hollywood stars
The first Armani/Privé club opens in Milan

The designer receives the CA-RI-FE Award for reintroducting hemp textiles into the Armani Jeans collection
2004

The Armani/Three on the Bund concept store opens in Shanghai

The EA7 sports and activewear line is launched

2005
The haute couture Giorgio Armani Privé collection debuts in Paris
2006

Giorgio Armani presents the One Night Only London event
Giorgio Armani develops the special Emporio Armani(Product)Red collection as part of Bono Vox and Bobby Shriver's project in support of the Global Fund against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria in Africa
2007
Giorgio Armani opens the fourth concept store, Armani/Ginza Tower, celebrating the occasion with the One Night Only Tokyo event



2008
Giorgio Armani is awarded the Legion of Honour — the highest merit granted by the French Republic.

The Olimpia Milano Basketball team is acquired

Giorgio Armani newly supports FAI (The National Trust for Italy) in the restoration of Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan
2009
The concept store, Armani/Fifth Avenue, opens in New York City

2010

Giorgio Armani, in collaboration with Green Cross International and UNICEF, launches the Acqua for Life charity initiative to promote access to clean drinking water


The first Armani Hotel opens in Dubai
2012

Giorgio Armani presents One Night Only Beijing event

During the Cannes International Film Festival, the designer begins to collaborate with the J/P Haitian Relief Organization (HRO), founded by actor Sean Penn following the earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010

Livia Firth wears a Giorgio Armani Privé dress in recycled PET on the red carpet of the Golden Globe Awards
2013

Giorgio Armani presents the One Night Only Rome and One Night Only New York events

The Armani Group establishes the Corporate Social Responsibility department and publishes its specifications for the RSL (Restricted Substances List)
During Men's Fashion Week in Milan, the Armani/Teatro opens its doors for the first time to emerging designers, hosting their collections for several seasons
2014
Giorgio Armani presents the One Night Only Paris event


The project Films of City Frames is launched in collaboration with international film schools
Photovoltaic systems are installed in the office buildings of via Bergognone, Milan
The Armani Group publishes its social and environmental codes of conduct for managing the relations with its supply chain
2015

Giorgio Armani is named Special Ambassador for Fashion at Milan's Expo

On April 30th, Giorgio Armani celebrates 40 years of his career and inaugurates the exhibition space, Armani/Silos. At the same time he designs and supports the renovation of the final section of via Bergognone and the surrounding green areas
The group adheres to the project of the Ministry of the Environment and carries out the first Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies on some of its best-selling products
Giorgio Armani once again supports FAI in the restoration of Villa Necchi Campiglio
2016
The Giorgio Armani Foundation is established with the aim of implementing projects of public and social utility
Giorgio Armani announces the total elimination of animal fur from its collections, in agreement with the Fur Free Alliance and receives recognition at the 2016 PETA Fashion Awards
The Armani Group participates in the drafting of the Guidelines on the eco-toxicological requirements by Italy’s CNMI, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (National Chamber for Italian Fashion)
2017

Giorgio Armani introduces the Armani/Laboratorio project, a film training workshop dedicated to young talents

During Milan Fashion Week, Emporio Armani presents a selection of clothes and accessories made from recycled materials

The first A|X Armani Exchange store opens in Milan
During Milan Fashion Week Giorgio Armani decides to show his Giorgio Armani collections without music as a sign of respect towards the people involved in the Ukrainian conflict
The Group joins the fundraising initiative launched by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Municipality of Milan (Comune di Milano). Furthermore, the Group announces a donation of essential clothing for Ukrainian refugees to be distributed through the Community of Sant’Egidio

The “Giorgio Armani 11” high-end watches line is launched

2023
On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Armani Group announces the Apulia Regenerative Cotton Project, a new project in collaboration with the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) Fashion Task Force in partnership with the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance – both founded by His Majesty King Charles III – for the development of agroforestry-based cotton production in Puglia.
The State Mint celebrates Giorgio Armani as an excellence and icon of Italian style in the world dedicating four limited-edition coins to him. The 2023 numismatic collection of the Italian Republic from the “Eccellenze Italiane” series includes a 50 euro gold coin, issued on July 11th to coincide with Giorgio Armani's birthday, and a triptych of 5 euro silver coins, issued on July 24th, anniversary of the company’s founding.


On the occasion of the eightieth Venice International Film Festival, Giorgio Armani celebrates Venice with a new edition of his One Night Only series of international events.

Giorgio Armani receives from the Mayor of Venice, Luigi Brugnaro the Golden Lion in Murano glass as ‘a gesture of recognition for a figure and a brand with an international dimension’.
